Howdy folks. Neville's Quarter Acoustic Breakdown has been updated! We are continuing to keep it very, very, local with our additions this week. We have added a love song called "2nd Time Around" by The Barefoot Movement who have a concert at Community Church Concerts on February 17th. The song is about a relationship that shows more promise the second time around. Next is The Old Ceremony who plays a lot more than just acoustic music but we love their song "Day That I Was Born". It’s about (possibly) being reborn when with a particular lover who apparently is no longer with the singer and he is almost suicidal about it. Sad haunting poetry, beautifully written lyrics that are somewhat confusing but undeniably beautiful.
We also added a very chill song called "Moving Pictures Of My Mind" from local favorites Chatham County Line. Moving pictures of my mind sounds like it has upright bass, piano, acoustic guitar. We love this song, they captured a contemplative musical hook that just doesn’t get old. And of course we had to add Rhiannon Giddens, another pride and joy of North Carolina. In case you missed it she gave an amazing speech last year at the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards show. And lastly we had to add a song from Mipso who started playing their music together at our very own UNC! We hope you enjoy the music as much as we do, and we will see you next week!
