About Neville's Quarter !

Neville's Quarter is a toss up between either attending a goosebumps inducing inspirational folk concert or finally finding that chill campfire circle of friends that you've been searching for all your life. Whichever way the the show lands for you, you will leave feeling a richer state of mind. Neville's Quarter's collection of songs is playful enough for kids to dance to but also delivers more weighty topics for adults to ponder over, well after all the microphones are unplugged. Together, the two are a highly skilled musical force; they incorporate at least half a dozen instruments in each show and have hundreds of well crafted songs to share. Their main objective as musicians is to break open the shells that trap people inside, and they do so through the lyrics and melodies they share with each performance.

Both Brian Moyer and Lex Headley have family roots in New Jersey but they've bounced around living in the collection of Massachusetts, New York, and North Carolina. Their music was born out of the bountiful music culture of North Carolina; between church choir practices, Songwriter Co-op meetings, bluegrass jams, and Saturday morning folk song circles, they developed their own musical style that is now known as "Neville's Quarter." Lex studied voice, violin, and piano as a classical music student at Syracuse University Setnor School of Music. The introduction to folk music and bluegrass in North Carolina was a floodgate for her; she quickly was pulled into the tide of songwriting and music performance there. Brian Moyer, a natural at songwriting and instigating singalongs, was the spark that got Neville's Quarter going. Becoming a professional musician had been a decades long dream of Brian's, and once Lex heard his songwriting, she too wanted to make that happen. They teamed up together in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, late in 2016, and have been making music together wherever they go since.

NQ Music Testimonials

Neville's Quarter has performed live at my business, La Vita Dolce, for several years, and it's always a wonderful experience. They are professional, reliable, and consistently great performers who put on shows enjoyed by all of our guests. We're grateful to get to work with them and will continue to do so for years to come!

Annie Johnston - Owner La Vita Dolce Cafe

“Lex & Brian (Neville’s Quarter) are tremendous professionals. They put careful consideration into each performance, making sure to always bring something new. We have had the pleasure of working with Neville’s Quarter several times in 2021 and I am always delighted when they are here. It is evident that Brian and Lex care about sharing their craft with all. One particular touch that was especially appreciated by our guests are the tambourines that NQ brings along with their performances. We are a family-friendly venue and the younger ones love to jam along. Happy to give my whole-hearted endorsement.”

Neville’s Quarter joined the Burlington Special Events music roster this past year and we are grateful for the ease of working with them to provide music at a variety of events. If you’re looking for a duo with great sound, strings, and an upbeat performance look no further than booking Brian and Lex for your next show.

We are always entertained when Neville's Quarter performs Live on WHUP's "Pass The Hat" radio show. Lex and Brian bring upbeat original music enhanced by tight harmonies and roots instrumentation

Kirk Ridge - Radio Personality and DJ WHUP

Brian and Lex are so easy to work with! They are very efficient on their own, they bring everything they need, and set-up on time. They know how to read the crowd, if they would either like it more quiet so people can talk, or if people want to join in and sing. I know it will always be a good event if Neville's Quarter is booked!"

Katie Stroud - Event Coordinator Hope Valley Country Club

We look for two qualities in musicians we invite to play on our stage: an ability to engage our audience with original music, and an authentic, kind demeanor. Lex and Brian are true professionals who bring us both every show. You simply can't avoid being a bit smitten by Neville's Quarter."

Dean Driver - Doodad Farm

"Neville’s Quarter was exceptional providing some splendid musical entertainment for the Textile Heritage Museum as we celebrated 140 years of Glencoe Mills beginning its longstanding textile career in manufacturing plaid fabrics in North Carolina. Brian and Lex went the extra mile in researching and playing music of the early textile era, which added a tremendous amount of historical and cultural interpretation to this splendid celebratory day. Thank you for making our anniversary event extra special. We’ll see you on the porch playing in Historic Glencoe again real soon."
